Damson Idris is a British-Nigerian actor recognized for his powerful performances, depth, and charisma, establishing himself as one of Hollywood's most versatile and dynamic leading men.
Idris most recently appears alongside Brad Pitt in Apple's highest-grossing blockbuster F1 (2025) , directed by Joseph Kosinski and set in the world of professional racing. He was recently announced to star as Miles Davis in Miles & Juliette (????) , directed by Bill Pohlad, which tells the story of the jazz legend's transformative trip to Paris in 1949, where he falls into a passionate romance with French singer Juliette Gréco. The biopic explores the profound connection between the two young artists just before they became cultural legends. Idris also wrapped production on Children of Blood and Bone (2027)

Idris first gained international acclaim for his breakout role as Franklin Saint in FX's critically acclaimed series Snowfall (2017-2023) , created by the late John Singleton. His portrayal of the ambitious young drug kingpin earned him widespread praise and an NAACP Image Award, with many critics calling his six-season arc one of the most compelling character evolutions in modern television.
His body of work also includes a starring role in the dystopian sci-fi film Outside the Wire (2021) directed by Mikael Håfström, and the lead role in Farming (2018) directed by Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, the story of a young Nigerian boy, 'farmed out' by his parents to a white British family in the hope of a better future. He has featured in Charlie Brooker's Black Mirror (2011-) , Donald Glover's Swarm (2023-2023) , and The Commuter (2018) directed by Jaume Collet-Serra.
Born and raised in London to Nigerian parents, Idris began his acting career on stage in Ade Solanke's play Pandora's Box. His talent and range quickly propelled him into film and television, where he continues to take on diverse and challenging roles.
Beyond acting, Idris has made his mark in fashion and philanthropy. He serves as a brand ambassador for Prada and is a founder of the jewelry brand DIDRIS. He also partners with Bono's (RED) organization as a (RED)UCATOR, helping to raise awareness and funds in the fight against AIDS and COVID-19.
