Mona Fastvold

Mona Fastvold is a Norwegian filmmaker and actor known for her work in intimate, character-driven drama. She first gained recognition as the director and co-writer of O Sonâmbulo (2014) and later earned wider acclaim with Um Fascinante Novo Mundo (2020), which premiered at international festivals and was noted for its nuanced performances and restrained visual style. She has also contributed as a co-writer on several films directed by Brady Corbet, including A Infância de Um Líder (2015), Vox Lux: O Preço da Fama (2018), and O Brutalista (2024). In addition to her film work, Fastvold has directed music videos for a number of musicians. Her filmmaking is often defined by psychological depth, atmosphere, and a keen interest in the emotional interiority of her characters.
